Ceramic Window Tinting in Troy for Cars, Homes & Businesses
Darker tint isn't the same as cooler tint. Solar energy includes visible light, infrared and UV. Ceramic window films from 3M and Solar Gard can reduce solar heat without relying on a very dark appearance, so compare the film's total performance as well as its shade.
When you compare films, look past the tint percentage:
- VLT (visible light transmission) tells you how dark a film looks. Lower numbers are darker.
- IR rejection measures infrared performance. Check the wavelength range and test method before comparing products.
- TSER (total solar energy rejected) is the most complete measure of heat performance, because it accounts for visible light, infrared and UV together.
Metal-free ceramic film avoids the signal-interference concerns associated with metallic films and is engineered for color stability. We offer economy, hybrid and ceramic options so you can balance heat rejection, appearance and cost. We also tint headlights and taillights.
For homes, offices and storefronts, residential and commercial window film reduces solar heat gain and glare, reduces UV exposure that contributes to fading, and can improve daytime privacy, depending on the film and lighting. Reflective film does not provide the same privacy after dark.

Protection for the miles ahead
Self-Healing Paint Protection Film for Michigan Roads
Michigan winters are hard on paint. Road salt, sand, gravel and freeze-thaw potholes send debris into your front end every day. Paint protection film, also called clear bra or PPF, is a clear layer of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) that helps absorb impacts and reduce damage to your clear coat.
We install 3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film Pro Series, an 8-mil urethane film with a self-healing topcoat. Minor surface scratches can heal when heat is applied; deeper damage does not self-heal. It's virtually invisible on gloss paint, resists staining from bugs and bird droppings, with gloss and matte options to discuss for your desired finish.
Discuss coverage based on how you drive:
- Partial front: leading edge of the hood and fenders, bumper and mirrors — the highest-impact areas.
- Full front: full hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors and headlights, without visible film lines across the hood.
- High-wear add-ons: rocker panels, door edges, door cups and rear bumper load areas.
- Full body: complete coverage for vehicles you plan to keep or protect for resale.
Surface preparation matters. We assess the existing finish and discuss cleaning, decontamination and any paint correction needed before installation.

Your vehicle. Your signature.
Custom Vehicle Wraps & Color Changes
Our founder designed and wrapped vehicles for the Fast & Furious franchise, and that same design-first approach goes into every wrap we install. A color change wrap lets you switch to gloss, satin, matte, metallic, color-shift or textured finishes such as carbon fiber and camouflage, while covering the existing finish underneath.
Material and technique are what make a wrap last. We use premium cast vinyl, which stretches into compound curves, door handles and recesses without pulling back the way cheaper calendered film can. Panels are removed where appropriate so edges are tucked and seams are planned, not improvised. Healthy factory paint is the best starting point. Repainted panels, failing clear coat and aged film can affect removal, so the existing finish needs to be assessed.
Looking for a smaller change? Explore chrome deletion and blackout trim or custom racing stripes. For a full transformation, start with our color and texture change options.

Get your business moving
Commercial Vehicle Wraps & Fleet Graphics
A wrapped work van is a moving sign that works every hour it's on the road. We handle the full process in-house: design, large-format printing, lamination and installation.
Good fleet graphics are built for distance and speed. That means a recognizable logo, high-contrast colors, a short list of services and a phone number or website people can read in traffic. We adapt your branding across vans, box trucks, pickups and trailers so the fleet looks consistent even when the vehicle shapes don't. Choose cut-vinyl lettering, partial graphics or a full wrap based on your budget and the space available.

Build the right combination
How Tint, PPF, Wraps & Ceramic Coating Work Together
Each service solves a different problem, and many customers combine them:
PPF + ceramic coating
PPF helps reduce chip damage; a ceramic coating on top adds gloss and makes the film easier to wash.
Wrap + PPF
Ask about compatible film combinations for added protection in exposed areas. Product compatibility and removal requirements need to be checked first.
Ceramic tint + PPF
Common on new vehicles — protect the paint and the interior on day one.
Wrap + chrome delete + powder-coated wheels
A coordinated look from paint to trim to wheels.
A silica-based (SiO2) ceramic coating bonds to the surface to create a slick, hydrophobic layer that repels water and resists contamination. It adds gloss and easier maintenance, but it is not impact protection — that's what PPF is for. We'll explain the trade-offs and recommend only what your vehicle needs.

Questions About Window Tinting, PPF & Vehicle Wraps
Compare your options, then talk with our Troy team about your vehicle or project.
Ask our team a question ↗Is ceramic window tint worth it?
For most drivers, yes. Ceramic film rejects infrared heat without needing to be very dark, it doesn't interfere with electronics, and it resists color fading. In Michigan, where front side windows are limited to the top 4 inches, ceramic film's heat rejection on the rear glass and windshield strip makes the biggest comfort difference.
How dark can I tint my windows in Michigan?
Michigan limits aftermarket film on front glass to a top-edge strip, no more than 4 inches or to the shade band, whichever is closer to the top of the windshield. Rear-glass reflectance must stay below 35%; mirror and medical-exception conditions also apply. Review the tint-law summary above and the current statute.
What is the difference between PPF, ceramic coating and a vinyl wrap?
PPF is a clear urethane film that helps reduce chip damage; self-healing films can repair minor surface scratches with heat. Ceramic coating is a thin, hard, hydrophobic layer that adds gloss and makes washing easier, but it doesn't stop chips. A vinyl wrap changes your vehicle's color or adds graphics while covering the paint underneath. Many customers combine two or more.
Does paint protection film turn yellow?
Older films could yellow from UV exposure. Modern premium TPU films such as 3M Scotchgard Pro Series use UV-stable topcoats designed to stay clear for years when properly installed and maintained.
Will a vinyl wrap damage my paint?
A premium cast-vinyl wrap professionally installed over healthy factory paint is designed to come off cleanly. Repainted surfaces, existing clear-coat failure or very old wraps can be exceptions, so we inspect your paint before quoting.
Can you tint windows on homes and commercial buildings?
Yes. We install residential and commercial window film that reduces heat gain, glare and UV fading. Tell us about the windows and the problem you want solved.
How do I get an estimate?
Send your vehicle's year, make and model, the service you want and any ideas or reference photos. For business graphics, include your logo and the vehicles or surfaces involved. Request a free estimate to get started.
